Applications: MOLSTEAR® Ca is used as an anti-caking agent and lubricant in suitable pharmaceutical, food and industrial formulations. In pharmaceutical manufacturing, it can be used in tablets, capsules, powders and granules to improve powder flow, reduce sticking during processing, and assist smooth tablet manufacture.

(A) Freezing point: Not less than 53°C.
(B) Acid value: 195 to 210.
(C) Examine the chromatograms.
(D) The solution gives reaction of calcium.
3 Solubility It is practically insoluble in water and in ethanol (96%).
4 Acidity and alkalinity Not more than 0.5 mL of 0.01 M hydrochloric acid or 0.01 M sodium hydroxide is required to change the colour of the indicator.
5 Chlorides Not more than 0.1%.
6 Sulfates Not more than 0.3%.
7 Loss on drying Not more than 6.0%.

(B) Stearic acid in the fatty acid fraction
(C) Sum of stearic acid and palmitic acid in the fatty acid fraction
(A) Not less than 6.4% and not more than 7.4% (dried substance).
(B) Not less than 40.0%.

(C) Not less than 90.0%.

PACKAGING

MOLSTEAR® Ca is packed in HDPE bag or HDPE drum with double PE liners inside and is provided with a barcoded label and a tamper-evident seal.

SHELF LIFE, STORAGE AND PACKING

The shelf life is 3 years. Preserve in well-closed containers.
